Help Wisconsin's Cats by Supporting Their Governor!
Dear ALDF Anti-Cruelty Team Member:
By now, I am sure that you have learned of Wisconsin 's imprudent decision to consider a proposal that would legalize the killing of feral cats.
Now it is time to show your support for Wisconsin Governor Jim Doyle!
Governor Doyle 's office received calls from around the country denouncing the Wisconsin Conservation Congress ' proposal to classify wild, free-roaming cats as an unprotected species. In response, Governor Doyle has said that he will veto any such bill during his term.
As we know, feral cats can have a significant impact on natural resources. Although the proposal is not likely to gain legislative approval, national coverage has exposed the problem of people abandoning cats or litters of kittens in the wild to fend for themselves.
Nevertheless, as this could become a serious issue in the future, we are asking you to promptly notify Governor Doyle. Tell him that you support his decision to veto such legislation!
